BÖHLER FOX DMO kb is a coated electrode with a base coating for shadow metal arc welding. The microstructure of the 0.5 Mo type weld metal exhibits needle-like ferrite and bainite with favorable mechanical properties in the post-welding and post-heat-treatment condition. The range of applications includes joint welding of similarly alloyed refractory steels and steel castings up to joining of high strength structural, fine grain and pipe steels. BÖHLER FOX DMO kb is approved for application in creep conditions at design temperatures up to 550°C. The impact energy is excellent up to temperatures < -50°C. The optimized coating BÖHLER FOX DMO kb results in minimal moisture absorption and guarantees low levels of diffuse hydrogen in the weld metal and 115% metal recovery.
