Si and Mn, and the burn-off rate are neutral with regard to its metallurgical behaviour. The flux is weldable with almost any wire electrode. When used in combination with a Union S 3 Si wire electrode, the weld metal has high toughness properties down to -60 °C and very good CTOD values down to -30 °C, making it extremely suitable for offshore structures. The flux can be used for tandem and multi-wire welding with direct and alternating current. Very good slag detachability.
