BÖHLER UNION Fe Ni 60 IG is a solid welding wire designed for MIG/MAG welding of cast iron and its combinations with unalloyed or low-alloy steels.
Thanks to its nickel content (≈ 60 %), it provides excellent toughness and crack resistance when welding grey and malleable cast iron.

Advantages:

• Excellent crack resistance when welding cast iron
• High nickel content – tough and strong weld
• Good machinability and aesthetic weld surface
• Compatible with shielding gases Ar + O₂ or Ar + CO₂

Application:

• Repairs of cast iron castings, engine blocks, gearboxes, pumps, etc.
• Joints between cast iron and steel.
• Suitable for Ar + 1–2 % O₂ shielding atmosphere or Ar + 5 % CO₂.

Weld properties:

• Fine structure of the weld metal with good penetration.
• Minimal stress and risk of cracking.
• Good machinability after welding.
