Application welding center VALTEC

Modern technologies
19.04.2024

We have established our own application welding center! As part of the growing trend of automation and robotics, we have joined the journey and are inviting our customers on board through live demonstrations and practical applications. The train of automation and robotics is taking both us and our customers into a future that is rapidly becoming a reality and cannot be stopped.

We have equipped our Application Welding Center with state-of-the-art technologies and divided it into three workstations.

CO-BRO® Welding Workstation

The CO-BRO® welding workstation is equipped with a collaborative robot from Universal Robots, controlled by a control system from voestalpine Böhler Welding under the CO-BRO® brand. The workstation includes a GPPH welding table, a Böhler URANOS 5000 GSM welding power source, a positioner from LORCH, and is complemented by an SBi plasma cutting and cladding system. In addition to traditional welding applications, the current CO-BRO® setup also enables plasma cladding operations.

Robotic Welding Workstation

The robotic welding workstation is equipped with technologies that make it fully automated and require only a single production operator to ensure smooth manufacturing operations. In this fully automated workstation, the robotic arm performs the welding process, while the positioner delivers the workpiece to the welding arm. The workstation consists of a Yaskawa AR2010 robot, a rotary positioner with two workstations, a welding torch cleaning station, and welding power supplied by LORCH welding systems. Specifically, the LORCH S5 RoboMIG XT is used for MIG/MAG welding applications, while the LORCH V 50 RoboTIG is used for TIG welding applications.

Cutting and Thermal Cutting Workstation

The cutting and thermal cutting workstation is a high-quality system with a simple and robust design. Precision dual-sided linear guide rails provide stability and exceptional accuracy for both oxy-fuel and plasma cutting applications. Fast and easy manual positioning on a gantry equipped with rack-and-pinion drives, combined with a motorized torch lifter, creates an unmatched cutting system. For optimal cutting performance, the EX-TRACK® CNC features arc voltage height control with initial touch sensing, combined with a collision sensor specifically designed for plasma cutting.
