Successful 51st International Conference - Welding 2024
From November 13–15, 2024, the picturesque setting of Tatranská Lomnica hosted the 51st International Welding Conference 2024, held at the SOREA Urán Hotel.
The event was organized by the Slovak Welding Society (SZS) as part of the Science and Technology Week in Slovakia 2024.
More than 150 participants from industry and academia once again took advantage of the conference to exchange knowledge, share experience, and establish new professional connections.
Technical Program and Key Highlights
The conference featured a comprehensive technical program – with the following main topics:
- Weldability of metallic materials
- Advanced welding, cutting, and related processes
- Requirements placed on manufacturers
- Latest developments in welding equipment, welding fixtures, filler materials, and base materials
- Non-destructive testing and inspection in welding
- Industrial welding applications
The conference also featured a presentation by VALTEC spol. s r.o. – ZVARCENTRUM entitled “Welding Is Our Passion!”, delivered by Radoslav Vavro, IWT, the company’s Sales Director. He introduced participants to the company’s extensive portfolio, including welding equipment, welding consumables, spare and wear parts, personal protective equipment, abrasives, and accessories required for modern welding processes. During the conference’s evening social program, he received the “3× BEST” award for the most original presenter of 2023, as well as an Honorary Recognition Award for 2024.

The Welding 2024 Conference once again confirmed its position as one of the most important professional events in the field of welding, both in Slovakia and internationally. The gathering of industry experts, academics, and representatives from the industrial sector provided a wealth of inspiration, valuable insights, and new opportunities for collaboration.
