BOHLER UTP 8 electrodes are for cold welding of gray and malleable cast iron, cast steel, and for joining these base metals with steel, copper, and copper alloys, especially for repairs and maintenance. UTP 8 has excellent welding properties. Easily controllable flow allows for spatter-free welding in all positions and with minimal current intensity. Surge and transition zones are fillable. Ideally suited for combined welding with ferronickel type UTP 86 FN (coating UTP 8 and filling UTP 86 FN). Minimum mechanical properties of weld metal Rp0.2 220Mpa Hardness 180HB DRY SYSTEM is an effective alternative for costly climate controlled storage and handling, providing "dry" bar electrodes directly from the vacuum pack. Safe welding with low-hydrogen weld metal is assured for up to nine hours after opening the vacuum pack.
