MIG WELD ML4043 (AlSi5) wire 1.0 mm / 7 kg / ER4043 / BS300
MIG WELD ML4043 wire is a solid silicon-alloyed aluminium welding wire designed for MIG welding of aluminium alloys. Complies with classification EN ISO 18273: S Al 4043A (AlSi5(A)) and AWS A5.10: ER4043, with material number 3.2245. A silicon content of approximately 4.5–5.5% improves the fluidity of the weld pool, promotes good wetting of the weld metal and helps reduce the risk of solidification cracking.
The welding wire is suitable for joining various aluminium alloys, especially AlSi casting alloys and AlMgSi wrought alloys. Thanks to the very good fluidity of the weld pool, it can be used for welding complex components, castings, and structural parts. Inert shielding gases I1 (argon), I2 (helium) or I3 (argon and helium mixtures) according to EN ISO 14175 are used for welding. Direct current with positive wire polarity (DC+) is used in the MIG process.
MIG WELD ML4043 is used in the production and repair of aluminium castings, structures, automotive components, and heat exchangers. It is suitable for welding selected materials AlSi with a silicon content of up to approximately 7%, AlMgSi0.5, AlMgSi0.8, AlMgSi1, AlZnMg and AlCuMg, provided the choice of filler material is appropriate for the given joint. The 1.0 mm diameter allows for controlled welding of thin and medium-thickness aluminium parts. The wire is supplied in 7 kg packaging on a BS300 spool.
Note: After anodising, the ML4043 weld metal may acquire a dark grey shade. For visible anodised structures where a colour match between the weld and the base material is required, a more suitable filler material must be chosen.
