MIG WELD ML4043 (AlSi5) Wire 1.2 mm / 7 kg / ER4043 / BS300
MIG WELD ML4043 wire is a solid silicon-alloyed aluminium welding wire designed for MIG welding of aluminium alloys. Complies with classification EN ISO 18273: S Al 4043A (AlSi5(A)) and AWS A5.10: ER4043, with material number 3.2245. A silicon content of approximately 4.5–5.5% ensures very good fluidity of the weld pool, promotes even spreading of the weld metal, and reduces the susceptibility to solidification cracking.
The welding wire is suitable for joining selected aluminium alloys, particularly AlSi casting alloys and AlMgSi wrought alloys. Its excellent wetting properties are advantageous when welding aluminium castings, profiles, and structural components. Inert shielding gases I1 (argon), I2 (helium) or I3 (argon and helium mixtures) according to EN ISO 14175 are used for welding. Direct current with positive wire polarity (DC+) is used in the MIG process.
MIG WELD ML4043 is used in the production and repair of aluminium castings, automotive components, machine parts, structures, and heat exchangers. It is suitable for welding selected AlSi and AlMgSi alloys, including materials EN AW-6060, EN AW-6061, and EN AW-6082, provided the filler material is appropriate for the required properties of the welded joint. A diameter of 1.2 mm allows for the productive welding of medium-thickness aluminium parts. The wire is supplied in 7 kg packaging on a BS300 spool for professional use.
Note: After anodising, the ML4043 weld metal acquires a dark grey shade. Therefore, the wire is not ideal for visible anodised structures where a colour match between the weld and the base material is required.
