BÖHLER ECOspark 8-NC MIG wire 1.2 mm / 250 kg (SG3/G4Si1) – copper-free (85978)
BÖHLER ECOspark 8-NC MIG wire is a high-quality copper-free solid welding wire designed for MAG welding of non-alloy and fine-grained structural steels. It corresponds to classification EN ISO 14341-A: G 46 4 M21 4Si1 / G 46 4 C1 4Si1 and AWS A5.18: ER70S-6. It belongs to the SG3/G4Si1 group and, thanks to the increased manganese and silicon content, provides good deoxidation properties, high strength, and toughness of the weld metal.
The main advantage of the wire is its specially treated copper-free ECOspark surface, which supports smooth wire feeding even at high feed speeds. A stable welding arc and limited formation of oxides and silicate deposits on the surface of the weld bead contribute to higher productivity and lower requirements for subsequent cleaning of welded joints. The wire is suitable for manual, mechanized and robotic welding and is used with shielding gases C1 (100% CO2), M21 (Ar/CO2) and M33 according to EN ISO 14175.
BÖHLER ECOspark 8-NC is designed for welding steels with a yield strength of approximately up to 460 MPa, including structural steels S235JR, S275JR, S355JR, S355J2, S460N and selected pressure vessel steels P235GH to P355GH. It is used in the production of steel structures, frames, beams, pressure vessels, machine parts, transport technology and industrial welded assemblies. The diameter of 1.2 mm enables productive welding of medium-thick and thicker steel parts.
The wire is supplied in high-capacity packaging weighing 250 kg, which is particularly suitable for automated and robotic welding workstations with high filler material consumption. Large packaging allows for longer continuous operation without frequent wire changes, reduces downtime in series production and increases the efficiency of the welding process. When using, it is necessary to ensure a compatible wire feeding system from the high-capacity packaging.
