STAVINOX ER316LSi 1.6 mm is a universal diameter for TIG welding of thin to medium-thickness austenitic Cr-Ni-Mo steels of type 316 and 316L. The low carbon content supports resistance to intergranular corrosion, while the molybdenum content increases the weld's durability in more corrosively demanding environments.

The increased silicon content improves the fluidity of the weld metal and helps create a smooth, uniform weld bead. It is suitable for general TIG welding of stainless steel sheets, pipes, tanks, process equipment and structural components. It is used in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, mechanical engineering and energy industries.
