MIG wire ELBOR SG3 1.2 mm / 250 kg / G4Si1 / DRUM (3FUS12KG250)
ELBOR SG3 MIG wire is a copper-coated solid welding wire intended for MAG welding of non-alloy and low-alloy structural steels. It conforms to the SG3 / G4Si1 / ER70S-6 classification according to EN ISO 14341-A and AWS A5.18. Compared to standard SG2 wires, it has a higher manganese and silicon content, which supports weld pool deoxidation, arc stability, and good mechanical properties of the weld metal.
The wire features a stable welding arc, good feeding properties and a uniform weld bead appearance. The copper-coated surface ensures reliable electrical contact and smooth wire feeding through the welding torch. It is suitable for welding with CO2 (C1) or an Ar/CO2 (M21) mixture shielding gas. It is used in manual, mechanised, and robotic welding of steel parts.
ELBOR SG3 is suitable for welding structural steels S235, S275 and S355 and other compatible non-alloy and low-alloy materials. It is used in the manufacture of steel structures, frames, piping, pressure vessels, machine parts, and components for the railway and shipbuilding industries. The 1.2 mm diameter provides a higher deposition rate and is suitable for the productive welding of medium and heavy-thickness steel parts.
The wire is supplied in a high-capacity 250 kg DRUM, designed primarily for automated and robotic welding stations with high filler material consumption. The drum packaging allows for longer continuous operation without frequent spool changes, helping to reduce downtime during mass production. A suitable decoiler and guiding device is required for feeding the wire from the drum.
