BÖHLER EMK 8 NC MIG wire SG3 1.2 mm / 250 kg (G4Si1) – uncoated (27469)
BÖHLER EMK 8 NC MIG wire is an uncoppered solid welding wire designed for MAG welding of non-alloy and fine-grained structural steels. It corresponds to classification EN ISO 14341-A: G 46 4 M21 4Si1 / G 46 4 C1 4Si1 and AWS A5.18: ER70S-6. It belongs to the SG3/G4Si1 group and, thanks to its higher manganese and silicon content, ensures good deoxidation properties, as well as high strength and toughness of the weld metal.
The main advantage of BÖHLER EMK 8 NC wire is its specially treated surface without a copper coating, which supports smooth feeding even at high feed speeds. The wire provides a stable welding arc, low spatter formation, and limited oxide and silicate deposits on the weld surface. These properties reduce the need for subsequent cleaning of the weld joints and increase productivity. It is suitable for manual, mechanized and robotic welding with shielding gases C1, M2 and M3 according to EN ISO 14175.
BÖHLER EMK 8 NC is designed for welding steels with a yield strength of up to approximately 460 MPa, including structural steels S235JR, S275JR, S355JR, S355J2, S460N and S460M, pressure vessel steels P235GH to P355GH and other compatible non-alloy and fine-grained steels. It is used in the production of steel structures, frames, beams, pressure vessels, boilers, machine parts and transport equipment. The diameter of 1.2 mm enables productive welding of medium-thick and thicker steel parts.
The wire is supplied in high-capacity drum packaging weighing 250 kg, which is particularly suitable for automated and robotic welding stations with high filler material consumption. The high-capacity drum allows for longer continuous operation without frequent wire changes, reduces downtime in series production and increases the efficiency of the welding process. A compatible feeding and guiding system for the drum is required for use.
