BÖHLER EMK 8 NC MIG Wire SG3 1.0 mm / 250 kg (G4Si1) – non-copper coated (27467)
BÖHLER EMK 8 NC MIG wire is an uncoppered solid welding wire designed for MAG welding of non-alloy and fine-grained structural steels. It corresponds to classification EN ISO 14341-A: G 46 4 M21 4Si1 / G 46 4 C1 4Si1 and AWS A5.18: ER70S-6. It belongs to the SG3/G4Si1 group and, thanks to the increased manganese and silicon content, provides good deoxidation properties, high strength, and toughness of the weld metal.
The main advantage of the BÖHLER EMK 8 NC wire is its specially treated surface without a copper coating, which ensures excellent feeding properties even at high feed speeds. The wire creates a stable welding arc with very low spatter and limited formation of oxides and silicate deposits on the surface of the weld bead. These properties contribute to higher productivity, reduced downtime, and a lower need for subsequent cleaning of the welds. It is suitable for manual, mechanized and robotic welding with shielding gases C1, M2 and M3 according to EN ISO 14175.
BÖHLER EMK 8 NC is intended for welding steels with a yield strength of up to approximately 460 MPa, including structural steels S235JR, S275JR, S355JR, S355J2, S460N and S460M, pressure steels P235GH to P355GH and other compatible non-alloy and fine-grained materials. It is used in the manufacture of steel structures, frames, beams, pressure vessels, boilers, machine parts and transport equipment. The 1.0 mm diameter allows for good control of the welding process on thin and medium-thick steel components.
The wire is supplied in a high-capacity BASEdrum drum packaging weighing 250 kg, primarily intended for automated and robotic welding workstations. The large packaging volume allows for long continuous operation without frequent wire changes, helping to reduce downtime in series production. A compatible wire guidance and unwinding system is required for feeding the wire from the drum.
