MIG WELD SG2 Wire 1.0 mm / 15 kg JQ MG50-6 GOLDEN BRIDGE (G3Si1) BS300
MIG WELD SG2 JQ MG50-6 GOLDEN BRIDGE welding wire is a professional copper-coated solid steel wire designed for MAG welding of non-alloy and low-alloy structural steels. It corresponds to classification AWS A5.18: ER70S-6 and EN ISO 14341-A: G 42 4 C1/M21 3Si1. It belongs to the material group SG2 / G3Si1 and is intended for manual, mechanised, and automated welding.
The wire is alloyed with manganese and silicon, which ensure good deoxidising properties and contribute to the creation of strong and ductile weld joints. Copper surface layer helps protect the wire from corrosion and ensures good electrical contact when passing through the contact tip of the welding torch.
GOLDEN BRIDGE JQ MG50-6 provides a stable welding arc, low spatter formation, and very good feeding properties. The manufacturer emphasises the uniform appearance of the weld bead and the possibility of welding in all common positions. The wire is characterised by good tolerance to mill scale remnants and oil impurities on the steel surface, and low sensitivity to porosity when the process is correctly set. To achieve a high-quality weld, it is recommended to thoroughly clean the welding surfaces.
The wire is suitable for welding structural steels with a tensile strength of approximately 500 MPa, particularly steels S235, S275 and S355 and other compatible non-alloy and low-alloy steels. It is used in the production of steel structures, beams, bridge elements, frames, automotive parts, machine components, and welded assemblies.
Welding is performed using the MAG (135) process under the protection of 100% CO2 (C1) or a suitable mixture of argon and carbon dioxide (M21) according to EN ISO 14175. Direct current with positive wire polarity DC+ is used. When using an Ar/CO2 mixed gas, a calmer arc and less spatter can generally be achieved than with pure CO2.
The 1.0 mm diameter is universal for welding thinner and medium-thickness steel parts. The manufacturer states a welding current of 50–220 A and recommends a shielding gas flow rate of approximately 15–20 l/min when using CO2. The precise welding voltage depends on the shielding gas, material thickness, welding position, and the required metal transfer mode.
The wire is wound on a BS300 metal cage spool with a weight of 15 kg, designed for professional MIG/MAG welding equipment that supports this spool size. The packaging is suitable for daily use in metalworking shops, engineering plants, and series production.
