MIG WELD SG2 Wire 1.2 mm / 250 kg JQ MG50-6 GOLDEN BRIDGE (G3Si1) – drum

MIG WELD SG2 JQ MG50-6 GOLDEN BRIDGE welding wire is a professional copper-coated solid steel welding wire designed for MAG welding of non-alloy and low-alloy structural steels. It corresponds to classification AWS A5.18: ER70S-6 and EN ISO 14341-A: G 42 4 C1/M21 3Si1. It belongs to the material group SG2 / G3Si1 and is suitable for manual, mechanised, automated, and robotic welding.

The wire is alloyed with manganese and silicon, which ensure good deoxidation properties and contribute to the formation of strong and ductile weld joints. Copper surface layer protects the wire from surface oxidation and supports reliable electrical current transfer through the contact tip of the welding torch.

GOLDEN BRIDGE JQ MG50-6 is characterised by a stable electric arc, low spatter formation, smooth feeding, and a uniform appearance of the weld bead. The manufacturer states a good tolerance to mill scale residues and oil contaminants on the surface of the base material and low sensitivity to porosity when the welding process is correctly set. However, it is recommended to thoroughly clean the surfaces to be welded before welding.

The wire is intended for welding carbon and low-alloy steels with a tensile strength of approximately 500 MPa. Typical base materials include structural steels S235, S275 and S355 and other compatible materials. It is used in the production of steel structures, beams, frames, bridge elements, automotive parts, machine components, transport equipment, and industrial welded assemblies.

A significant advantage of this version is the high-capacity 250 kg drum packaging (DRUM), designed for workplaces with high welding wire consumption. Compared to standard 15 kg spools, it significantly reduces downtime caused by packaging replacement and supports the smooth operation of automated production lines.

Drum packaging is particularly suitable for robotic welding stations, automated production lines, mass production, and industrial workplaces with continuous operation. Reliable wire feeding requires a compatible unwinding and guiding system, including suitable unwinding accessories, a feeding mechanism, and wire guides.

Welding is performed using the MAG (135) process under the protection of 100% CO2 (C1) or a mixture of argon and carbon dioxide with a CO2 content of 15–25% (M21) according to EN ISO 14175. Direct current with positive polarity of the welding wire DC+ is used.

The 1.2 mm diameter allows for productive welding of medium and thick steel parts with higher deposition rates. For this diameter, the manufacturer specifies a recommended welding current of 80–350 A and, when using CO2, a shielding gas flow rate of approximately 15–25 l/min. The exact welding voltage depends on the welding current, shielding gas, welding position, and metal transfer mode.

The wire is supplied in a high-capacity drum containing 250 kg of welding wire. The packaging does not include a standard D200 or BS300 spool and is intended for use with a suitable external wire feeding system.
